Tone 8 Fauxbourdon: "Magnificat" for TTB a cappella choir ~Nicholas Lemme

Updated: Jun 6

On February 18, 2024 Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary was asked to sing Vespers on the First Sunday of Lent at St. Cecilia's Cathedral in Omaha, NE. Thanks to Dr. Marie Rubis-Bauer and the Cathedral's rector, Fr. Jeremy Hans, for this opportunity.

The following recording is of the Magnificat antiphon and verse for the First Sunday of Lent. This fauxbourdon is part of an ongoing series of equal-voice fauxbourdons designed to accompany antiphons and psalmody for both the Mass and Divine Office. Please visit my website if you'd like to purchase the score or would like to commission it to be set to another psalmodic text. I'm currently setting the Communion antiphons and verses of the liturgical year for their according to the antiphons mode and these unique and modal fauxbourdons.
